On August 28th, OCV’s award winning building at Fox Point was featured on PBS’s MetroFocus, as part of a special report on supportive housing in New York City: ‘Supportive Housing: Solutions Beyond Shelter for the Chronically Homeless.’ The piece highlights residents of Fox Point and includes an interview with Deputy Mayor for Housing and Economic Development Alicia Glen on Mayor Bill de Blasio’s landmark affordable housing plan. This fall Fox Point celebrates it’s 5th year of servicing the community. The building readily achieved LEED Gold in 2012, one of the first supportive housing projects in NYC to do so.

OCV’s recently completed project at Arverne View (formerly Ocean Village) in Queens, was featured as a case study for housing in NYC as outlined in Mayor Bill de Blasio’s Housing New York, A Five-Borough, Ten-Year Plan. Utilizing water conservation methods and energy efficient systems, this project rectifies the problems of the past while making strides toward a safer future for New York’s valuable beach front housing stock. OCV worked together with Robin Key and L & M Development in remediating the damages of Hurricane Sandy at Arverne View. The beachfront housing complex in the Rockaways was severely damaged in the 2012 storm.
